Before purchasing a domain name, there are many things to consider. In order to be seen by buyers when they are using a search engine to look for a product or service, it is essential that your website be one of the first 20 or so listed.  One of the best ways to insure this, is to use a GENERIC domain name for your website.
For example, using a search engine is very similar to looking up a product or service in the Yellow Pages of your local phone book - under the generic name of the product/service you will find companies that have what you are looking for.  Similarly, on the internet, some search engines list websites by how closely the website name compares to the item being searched for. If the item the buyer is looking for is "Wholesale Diamonds" and your website is named "Wholesale Diamonds.com", you will be at the top of the list.  Other search engines spider websites and titles of websites and determine the relevancy to the item being searched for.  A good generic domain name can put you way ahead of your competition in the search engines, and, can literally be worth many millions of dollars!!
